Maximize Your Post High School Choices with Beyond 18

A 95% College Acceptance Rate

Marie Morris, founder of Beyond 18, LLC of Portland, Oregon, believes students have many choices for the post high school years - some not always readily apparent. She encourages families to look broadly when considering the next step after high school.

Since 2010, Marie has helped hundreds of students find their "right fit" school and has a 95% college acceptance rate for her students. This reflects her ability to find good matches – academically and financially, between her students and their “right fit” college choices.

Marie extends your student's network by taking a collaborative approach with high school, independent, and college counselors. She also hosts college planning and financial aid presentations throughout the year. To stay current on trends and gain first-hand knowledge of college campuses, she travels extensively visiting in excess of 40 schools each year.

A College Admissions Consultant with a Diverse Background

Marie received her B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from California State University, Fullerton, CA. She worked for many years in home improvement consumer sales in the San Francisco Bay area and Portland, OR.

After a career change to raise her children, she returned to the traditional workforce in Beaverton School District, primarily to help grade school children focus on reading.

As her own children approached their college search journey, Marie turned her attention to understanding the maze of admissions, programs and schools. Each of her three children took slightly different paths to college, including one who chose a gap year.

Marie completed the UCLA College Counseling Certificate program with distinction early in 2013. She has been an ASPIRE mentor for over a decade, where her emphasis is assisting under-served and first-generation students.

About Marie Sitting 2023

“Marie helped our twin daughters through every aspect of the college search. You could see them shed the stress once we met her and signed on. She is knowledgeable, understanding and knows how to deal with teenagers. Both my daughters are loving their college experiences and I give a lot of the credit for that to Marie.”
